Basswood, approximately 10″ wide by 12″ tall.

These pieces come in assorted packages and by their vary nature each one is a little different.
I can send you pictures of the pieces I have available, and you can select one, or request that I purchase a new batch (extra cost). Or you can supply your own.

These pieces seem to etch with a lighter brown color than the slices. In order to get a dark etch, the laser cuts into the surface about 1/16″ producing a relief effect. Some overburn is unavoidable, but can be sanded.

Optionally, I can add a borax solution before the etch and get a black etching with no relief effect. Borax-treated pieces need to be sealed with spray urethane to prevent the burned borax from smudging.
